Accommodation

Tiona Park itself contains a number of accommodation options including camping, Lodge, Beach House and cabin accommodation. All accommodation at Tiona Park is on a shared room basis. You can choose to stay onsite, at Tiona Park or book offsite accommodation in the Pacific Palms/Forster region. If you are choosing to stay offsite we do recommend that you make a reservation as early as possible, since the region tends to get booked up. You will find the information below helpful to plan your accommodation.

Tiona Park

Camping

All camping at Tiona Park for the 2012 retreat will be on marked camping sites. It will not be possible to arrive at Tiona Park and camp without a prior booking. All fees on this page are inclusive of GST and are for the full 10 days of retreat (arriving on 12 January 2012 and departing on 22 January 2012).

• Powered sites are booked on a per site basis at a cost of $304.00 for families. A maximum of 6 adults may camp on a powered site. Extra adult charges may apply where there are more than two adults.
• Unpowered sites are booked on a per site basis at a cost of $121.50 for a site suitable for a single person and $243.00 for a site suitable for two people.

Lodge and Beach House Accommodation

Lodge and Beach House accommodation is available.

Rooms in the Lodge are either four-berth (two double bunks) or six-berth (3 double bunks). Rooms in the Beach House vary in style and numbers of berths. There is room for approximately 70 individuals in The Lodge and 20 individuals in The Beach House (depending on gender split).

The cost per person for the Beach House is $276.00. The cost per person for the Lodge is $277.50 in a four-berth room and $188.00 in a six-berth room.

Cabin Accommodation

Cabin accommodation is available but limited. Cabins sleep between 4 and 6 persons, can be of open plan or shared roomed styles, and may or may not have kitchen and bathroom facilities. Accommodation in cabins is allocated by Rigpa with the following criteria being applied to ensure individuals with the greatest needs can attend Rinpoche's teachings. Individuals considered for a cabin bed include those who are disabled, elderly, have a medical condition that precludes travel, those travelling with Rinpoche, families with small children, Rigpa staff working long hours on retreat, and then finally for those who have indicated an interest but do not fall into the above categories should any beds remain unallocated. Charges per night will be advised.

Allocation of cabins and cabin beds generally cannot be confirmed prior to mid November 2011, with spare beds being allocated late in November to those who indicated an interest and do not fit any of the above criteria.

Off-site

For the 2012 Retreat, Rigpa will operate a minibus that will collect participants who have book accommodation in Forster / Tuncurry (the closest town to Tiona Park). A daily fee of $3.00 will be charged for this service. A schedule will be advised. There will be three pick-up points, so when booking accommodation in Forster / Tuncurry, inform the real estate agent of Great Lakes Information Centre that you want to be close to one of the following locations:

• Tuncurry Memorial Hall (Point Road Tuncurry)
• Great Lakes Information Centre (Little Street, Forster)
• Stocklands Shopping Centre (outside Woolworths)

Shared Accommodation

If you book off-site accommodation and have any spare beds you wish to share or would like to request to share off-site accommodation you can visit our classifieds page. Using the classifieds page is easy:

• First register yourself as a user
• Once you receive your password by email login to the classifieds page and navigate to the Accommodation section and navigate to the appropriate classified board
• Click on the submit ad menu item
• Enter your classified
• Remember to keep your user id and password handy as you may need them if you want to return and amend your ad
