Celebrating Thirty Years in Australia

In January 1985, Sogyal Rinpoche visited Australia and New Zealand for the first time. He was among the first Tibetan masters to bring the Dzogchen teachings to that part of the world, and his media appearances and book had a major impact in making Buddhism mainstream.

To celebrate its thirtieth anniversary, Rigpa Australia has been gathering the story of these first visits, interviewing pioneers, scanning photographs and documents, and digitising early teachings. Ann Pickering, who has led the project, shares some glimpses.
